The King Alfred Leisure Centre

Backdate this one to 24 February 2008 (better yet - blogger should set up a functionality so that I can choose how the date appears when I post this - just a thought).

Alright Ladies and Gentlemen, I am determined - DETERMINED - absolutely 100% DETERMINED - to get myself back into shape. That is why I am announcing it here for all of you to see, because I am hoping that you will be my guilty conscience and push me to keep at my fitness regime.

So let me tell you what it is.

Wednesdays: Tap class. One hour of extreme mind and feet exercise. Light cardiovascular workout.

Sundays: Hardcore cardio. I am not allowed to leave the pool (I've signed up at the King Alfred Leisure Centre, hence the title of this post) until I have either swam 2000 metres or swam for 1 hour straight with no breaks. Whichever comes first. (Likely it will be the 2000, but when the 2000 nears 40 minutes to complete I will rejig and up the distance)

After easter I will start stage jazz classes on Mondays - but we'll see how that goes and if my coordination is up to speed to really make it part of the routine.

Ok, that's the exercise side. Now for my diet.

I can only eat a Burger King meal ONCE a week. It doesn't matter if I am absolutely starving after work, there are healthier choices for the journey home.

I will take a healthy lunch to work twice a week (making it myself and bringing it from home is bound to have less calories than what I buy from whereever on a normal day).

Toast with tea twice a week ONLY.

I can have sandwiches from the shops up to three times a week (because it's simple and we're improving in stages and cutting them out cold turkey would just be way too difficult to adjust to). This number will include the paninis I always eat when I lunch out with the girls.

Tea with only ONE sugar ALWAYS and no more than three cups of tea per day (again, this is gradual change - really, the change in sugar is enough, but I'm a go big or go home kind of girl so am cutting back on how much tea I drink altogether).

Drink two cups of water per day AT LEAST and only two juice boxes per day MAX (this will also help the environment).

I will try and cut back on my pepsi intake too.

Ok, so now you know. As Bridget Jones said to her director for Sit Up Britain! when he told her to slide down the fireman's pole and point the hose:

'I'll do it!'
